KAMO SPRINGS HOTEL

APPEAL AGAINST LICENCE

The appeal against the action of the Marsden Licensing Committee in granting a licence to the Kamo Springs Hotel is to be heard by Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court next Saturday. When the action was mentioned today, both Mr. McLiver, on behalf of the licensee, and Mr. Schramm, on behalf of a member of the licensing committee, were not ready to proceed, the latter stating he had been instructed only on Saturday. His Honour said that it was imperative the action should be litigated as soon as possible, otherwise if the licence was illegally granted the licensee was selling liquor illegally. The adjournment was granted on the score that *tlie licensing committeo had not been notified of the day of hearing.
