FLOWERS AT NEW LYNN

SPRING SHOW OPENED

The New Lynn Horticultural Society’s second spring show was held on Saturday. The opening ceremony was performed by the Mayor of New Lynn, Mr. C. F. Gardner.

The bad weather last week did much damage in many gardens, but despite this setback many beautiful blooms were staged. Roses were especially good.

The oi>eii championship in the rose section was won by Messrs. Cutler and Meikle with a George Dickson. The amateur championship in that section was won by Mr. A. W. Whitebread with a Chedane Guinnissau. The cup donated by Mr. A. Crum for annual competition for 12 best roses was allotted to Mr. R. A. Jeffrey, who also won outright the Riggal. Cup.
