RED BANK’S EASY WIN

Press Association FEILDING, Today. The second day of the Feilding Jockey Club’s jubilee meeting was run at Feilding today in glorious weather. There was a large attendance and the track was in good order. Results: CHELTENHAM HURDLES Of £175; about li miles and 130 yards. 4—RED BANK, 10.4 1 3—ELY SIAN OR, 12.6 2 7 DELUDE, 9.6 3 Scr.: Atareria. Won by three lengths, with a. nose between second and third. •Time, 2.56 4-5. Brigadier Bill was made favourite for the Cheltenham Hurdles, with Horomea and Elysianor well backed. j Hard Gold fell on the flat early in the race and Schorr took up the running and led into the straight from Delude, Red Bank, Elysianor and Brigadier Bill. Brigadier Bill and Red Bank took charge along the back with Delude and Fine Acre handy. Red Bank was in charge at the straight entrance from Brigadier Bill, with Fine Acre and Elysianor next, Red Bank ran on strongly to win bv two and a-half lengths from Elysianor, who beat Delude by a neck, with Novar and Brigadier Bill next. NOVICE STAKES Of £150; 6 furlongs 2—HUNTING DAY, 8.8 1 4—GRATTUS, 8.8 ’ 2 7—PLANE, B.S 3 All started. Won by a length, with two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.15 2-5. The Novice Stakes was late in starting owing to the vagaries of a couple of the runners. When the field did get away Hunting Day was the first to show .out, while Pedestal, Black Acre and Leisure were handy. Crossing the top Leisure was level with Hunting Day and Pedestal was Handy, while Arrowzone was doing the best of the others. In the run home Hunting Day went away to win by a length from Grattus, who beat Plane by two lengths, with Valma and Four Aces next. ST. ANDREW’S HANDICAP Of £300; 1 mile and a distance. 3—ARROW LAD, 7.6 1 6—TERI, 7.9 2 8— TALISKER, 7.7 3 All started. Won by two lengths, with one length between second and third. Time, 1.54 1-5.

In the St. Andrew’s Handicap, the principal event of the day, the bestbacked candidates were Bright Glow and Ruanui. Merry Mint soon got to the front, and passing the stand was just ahead of Arrow Lad, Teri, Ruanui, Keddar, and Joy Bird. Crossing the top, Merry Mint led Teri, Arrow Lad, Talisker, Bright Glow, and Shrewd. Arrow Lad came on from the bottom of the straight, to win very easily by two lengths, with Talisker a length and a-half away third. Bright Glow fourth, and Merry Mint fifth. OROUA NURSERY HANDICAP Of £200; 5 furlongs

6—LADY PAM a— CYLINDER, 7.12 9—ARIUS, 7.7 All started. Won by half a length, with a length between second and third. Time, 1.3 2-5.
