MUSIC CIRCLE ARRANGES INTERESTING EVENING On Tuesday evening the monthly meeting of the mpsic circle of the League of New Zealand Penwoman was held. Aliss Alarjorie Hutton AVhitelaw read a most. interesting paper entitled “The Romance of the Violin,” after which delightful items were given entirely by violinists. A quartet consisting of Aliss Amy Stevenson, Aliss Rita Philipps, Airs. Hesketh, and Aliss Shelmerdine gave several numbers—“Sarabande,” by Bach; “Andante from Symphony,-” Rosetti; “Romanze,” Alozart; and “Alinuet,” Bocchereni.” Aliss Stevenson and Aliss Philipps played a duet, Handel’s, “Sonata No.. 3.” Airs. Hesketh gave as a solo “Hungarian Dance.” Previous to the lecture, the ten-year-old daughter of Airs. H. Bloy charmed the audience with her playing of a violin solo, “Sietz Concerto.” Her technique, interpretation, and rhythmic sense being remarkable.
