FAREWELL TO POLICE OFFICER

FUNCTION AT OTAHUHU Prior to his departure on transfer to the Ponsonby station, Sergeant G. H. Lambert, who has been in charge of the Otahuhu Police District for 18 months, was presented with a case of pipes from the constables in the district. _ In making the presentation. Constable G. J. Maloney, of Papatoetoe, who is at present in charge of Ihe district, expressed their regret at losing the sergeant, and on behalf oi: the staff wished him every success. Constables F. Pollard and W. Neild also spoke in eulogistic terms of the harmonious conditions which had prevailed during Mr. Lambert’s term of office. Sergeant Rowell, of the Thames district, is Sergeant Lambert’s successor.
