AN EXPLANATION

COME confusion occurred at the Otahuhu meeting over the driver of Togo's Promise, who won the opening event and paid a great price. The trotter is owned by E. Grimmond, and the board showed the owner as driver. As the Press takes the drivers from the noticeboard, the result was published with the owner as driver. The reinsman’s card at the secretary’s office, however, shows that T. Grimmond drove Togo’s Promise. This gives T.G. two winning drives for the meeting, as he scored in the final event of the fixture with Master Huia.
