MAORI SENT TO GAOL Special to TUB SUN PUTARURU, Thursday. Three months imprisonment will have to b© served by Walter Leo Scott, a Maori, for robbing: a companion of £lB 10s. When Scott was charged in the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., evidence was given that accused and a man named Robinson were drinking together, and Robinson found he had* been robbed. Accused had £l4 10s when arrested. Accused said th© money had been given to him for safe keeping. Robinson denied this statement. Accused was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
