HUNDREDS OF WEDDINGS AT
BOMBAY EXORBITANT DOWRIES Reed. 9.5 a.m. DELHI, Wednesday. Owing to the Act forbidding child marriages, which was passed by the Legislative Assembly, not coming into operation until April, children are being married en masse in . Bombay at present, 2,000 being married in Surat alone. The boom has already led to a demand for exorbitant dowries. Moneylenders are said to be doing a roaring business.
