PRINCE’S RECOVERY.—The Crown Trinco of Denmark has made a complete recovery from his recent operation for tonsilitis. NEW FINANCE MINISTER.—Mi*. C. A. Dunning. Minister of Railways in Canada, was sworn in as Minister of Finance in succession to the late Mr. J. A. Robb. HONOURED BY OXFORD.—At Oxford University, the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law was conferred on Mr. Frank B. Kellogg, formerly Secretary of State for the United States. SOUTHERN CROSS CREW.—Two members of the crew of the Southern Cross, Mr. T. H. McWilliams, the wireless operator, and Mr. H. A. Litchfield, navigator, returned to Melbourne yesterday on board the Swedish motorship Templar. GOVERNOR OF TRINIDAD.—Sir Alfred C. Hollis, British Resident for the Zanzibar Protectorate, has been appointed Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Trinidad and Tobago. He succeeds Sir Horace Byatt, whose resignation has been accepted. U.MPRIE CONSTITUTION —It is understood that no drastic alterations figure in the report of the Imperial Constitutional Conference which is to he finalised next week. Whether copies will be sent to the Governments of each of the Dominions for publication is a matter for them to decide. EMPIRE ECONOMICS.-—When and where the Imperial Economic Conference will be held is still a matter of negotiation between the Governments °f Canada and of the other parts oT the Empire. The Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. Mackenzie King, said he hoped it would be held in Canada, but nothing was decided. R.A.F. APPOINTMENT. AirCommodore Arthur M. Longmore has been appointed Air Officer Command*ng the Royal Air Force at Cranwell and Commandant of the Royal Air Force College. He succeeds Air ViceMarshal Frederick Halahun on the latter completing his three years’ appointment. lady heath’s dresses.—sir James Heath won the case in the King’s Bench Division, in which he contested a claim for £231) for gowns supplied to his wife. Lady Heath, wellknown as an airwoman, by a West End firm of court dressmakers, just before her departure for America. The Judge held that Lady Heath had an ample allowance. He ordered her to Pay the bill, and also the costs of the case.
