PARISH FAIR

NORTHCOTE ANGLICANS

There were large attendances at the Parish Hall, Northcote, on last Friday

and Saturday when the fair held by the members of St. John’s Anglican Church, Northcote, was officially opaned by Mr. A. Harris, M.P. for Waitemata.

The vicar. Canon E. J. McFarland, introduced Mr. Harris, who congratulated the members of the church on the attractive and splendid exhibition of goods and the effectively decorated stalls. The Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A E. Greenslade. also briefly spoke and wished the church every success in its ministerial and social efforts in the borough.

Those in charge of the stalls were: Cadies’ Guild. Mrs. A. Vaylor and assistants; choir stall. Miss Wheatley; cake stall, Mrs. Swinbank; fancy stall. Mrs. ILarrisson; one shilling stall, Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Kendall; tea room, Mrs. Newman: sweet stall. Misses Hunt and Harrisson: ice cream, Mrs. Cross; flower stall. Mrs. Harding. The total sum taken at the stalls nas £l2B 6s 4d and exceeded anticipations. Mr. Roland Cadness was secretary of the bazaar committee and was indefatigable in his efforts for the success of the fair.
