BAN ON SHEEP EXPORT
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CAUSES A STIR SYDNEY. Wednesday. The Federal Ministry caused a sensation today by issuing a proclarna tion prohibiting the exportation of 5.000 rams and ewes to Russia. Nearly all of them had been taken on board the motor-ship Thalatta. In tho Federal House of Representatives today the Minister of Customs announced that since 1910 The stud sheep exported from Australia numbered 22.511, valued at £3SS,OOO. South Africa took 11.165 sheep valued at £257.000; New Zealand took 4.503 valued at £4 4.000: and Japan and Russia took the remainder.
