ENERGETIC COMMITTEE ORGANISES SUCCESSFUL DANCE
AVONDALE FUNCTION The Avondale Fire Brigade held a very Successful dance in the Town Hall, Avondale, on Monday evening. There was an excellent attendance and the bright music supplied by Paltridge's Orchestra was much appredated. Mr. G. Walters, assisted by Mr. K. Hall, performed the duties of master of ceremonies. Chaperones for the evening were Mrs. C. I>. Grey, Mrs. E. Herring and Mrs. W. Clough. The committee members present were:—Mr. L. Watson, Mr. E. Herring, Mr. L. Rout, Mr. W. Clough. Mr. G. Walters, Mr. R. Hall, Mr. R. Lindsay, Mr. F. Sanders, Mr. R. Montgomery, and M. J. Parker. Among those present were: Madame G. Saylis, wTio wore deep mauve georgette with diamente trimming; Mrs. W. Brown, blue crepe de chine, and lace; Mrs. H. Vaughan, silver tissue over rose satin; Mrs. C. Hanham, lime lace, and maize shawl; Mrs A. C. Jamieson, pale green crepe de chine; Mrs. H. E. Low, apricot taffeta and gold; Mrs. Cantell, pale blue georgette with over-dress of cream lace; Mrs. Eyton, french blue georgette; Mrs. .tuning black crepe de chine; Mrs. Robertson, blue satin; Mrs. Bettany, apple green taffeta and lace; Mrs. C. 1). Grey, beige silk, french embroidery to tone; Mrs. Butler, steel grey crepe de chine; Miss Parke, pale blue satin and net overdress. , , . , Mrs. G. A. Grey, air force blue and apricot taffeta; Miss Isabel Baildon, electric blue and cyclamen taffeta, with uneven hem: Miss O. Grey, shell pink petalled georsatin; Miss G. Viggers, blue chiffon georgette; Miss L. Coulter, cherry silk net and gette and crepe de chine; Miss M. Bickens, apricot georgette, silver lace; Miss J. Redshaw, apricot crepe de chine, with silver lace; Miss A. Ilollinger, mauve taffeta and lame trimmings, uneven hem; Miss K. Shields, lavender crepe de chine and taffeta, uneven hem; Miss N. Shields, rose crepe de chine, trimmed with satin; Miss B. E. Churchill, cherry red chenille georgette; Miss Hylda Cowan, eau de nil georgette, headed design; Miss M. McKenzie, black and coral beaded georgette; Miss Ivy Teirney, blue satin frock with gold lace overskirt; Miss B. Oliver, mauve georgette and satin, uneven hemline.
