BETTING ON MOTOR RACES

PLAN FOR TOTALISATOR

APPLICATION TO BE MADE To apply to the Government for* permission to install a totalisator at the Mangere Speedway was a decision made at a meeting of the committee of the Auckland Automobile Racing Club held last evening. It -was held by those present that since betting was permitted on horse races there appeared to be no logical reason why it should not be allowed on motor races. Betting on motor contests was permitted in all other countries where the sport had a good following. It was stated that if the permit to install a totalisator was granted there would be no difficulty in having it ready for the forthcoming meeting on Saturday. December 7.
