EX-SERVICE WOMEN

LARGE ATTENDANCE AT ANNUAL MEETING Tli© Auckland Ex-Service Women's Association held it? annual meeting at t::e Tower Tea Rooms on Atondav last week. Mrs. Gould presided. There was a large attendance of me m be rs. Reports were presented from various branches of the association, including secretarial, Mrs. T\ C. Webster; country members and National Council of Women. Miss lamest: emergency sub-committee, Mrs. Wrjgley. the latter report showing that many unemployed ex-service men and their families had received assistance. Country members visiting Auckland and visiting* cx-service women from overseas had been entertained. On Poppy Day the members as usual took charge of a stall and <L'NL 16s lOd was collected. Miss K. Ernest. R.R.C., had done splendid work in corresponding with the country members and had also acted as delegate to the National Council of Women. Appreciation was expressed of Miss Xutsev, R.R.C., who accepted the position of patroness in March last. . Much regret was expressed at the resignation of Mrs. Cadoux as president. Mrs. Leary was the acting-pre-sident. Great appreciation was expressed at the work of Airs. Cadoux, who had done so much for the association. Tribute was also paid to Mrs. Stocker, the honorary secretary for the past year. The officers for the ensuing year are as follow:—Patron. Miss Xutsev, A.R.R.C.; president, Airs, 11. L. Gould: vice-presidents. Alesdames R Michaels, L. P. Leary, R. Deck. A. C. Jacob; lion, secretary: Airs. F. Webster; hon. treasurer, Aliss G. Luxlurd: general committee, Atesdames Garlick, Ranfurlv Smith, Andrews, Lmptage, Mackesy, Misses Stubbinglon, A.R.R.C., Chilton-Button, Dash. Aliss L.
