WOOL PRICES STEADY

LONDON AND SYDNEY SALES CONTINUED NEW MERINO RECORD United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reccl. 11.14 a.m. LONDON, Thurs. At the wool sales, 10,734 bales were offered, of which 1,403 were New Zealand. There was a large and representative selection of greasy Merinos. ; Prices were maintained. There were j some withdrawals owing to high rei serves. New Zealand greasy Merino, I Taradale, 15£cl top price, l Ud average. SALES AT SYDNEY j At the Sydney wool sales today there i was extremely keen competition from i Yorkshire and the Continent. As a I result, the market for all fine spinning j wools was equal to the best .rates for tho week. Greasy Merino sold to 34\d, ; which is a new record for this seaj son. In all, 10,123 bales were sold.
