AN ULSTER GATHERING : j | DELIGHTFUL FUNCTION : ; A garden party to welcome Viscount j i Craigavon and Viscountess Craigavon j was held at Ellerslie yesterday afternoon by the Ulster people of Auckland, j the largo and enthusiastic gathering ! testifying to the pleasure felt at the j visit of the guests of honour. Many were present who still had vivid and poignant recollections of a land dear to them, and it was not hard to see how deeply the reunion of countrymen on this occasion touched them all. Nothing could have been more complete than the warm,' heartfelt greeting extended to the Viscount and Viscountess, who were a link with the land they loved. The kiosk, where afternoon tea was served, was tilled to capacity, long tables stretching down the room, with another across the end for the guests of honour. All the tables were beautifully arranged with deep crimson roses in tall vases of green pottery. Through the open windows, glimpses of beautiful mauve and white rhodo- | dendrons against a background of I glorious oaks in their spring freshness \ and the deep green of lawns gladdened ) the eye, and many of the visitors ar- | rived early in order to stroll about the ! beautiful grounds. I Much appreciation was shown at the ) presentation of the title-deeds of a > park to the City of Auckland, by Mrs. | W. IT.
