, The Birkenhead Borough Council held its fortnightly meeting 1: * ven- ; ing, the Mayor, Mr. J. p. McPhail, i presiding. It was decided not to join the Auckland Suburban Local Bodies’ Association. The Devonport Steam Ferry Company advised that the council’s request that Saturday be included in the 6.15 a.m. vehicular boat trip from Birkenhead had been adopted. Permission for a sacred picture pro- | gramme on Christmas Dav was i granted, subject to the programme , being approved by the Mayor. 1 Crs. Kerruish. Campbell and the Mayor were appointed to attend the I meeting of the Marine Boroughs’ Asj sociation next Wednesday to consider I the question of amalgamation.
