HOWICK ROSE SHOW
LIST OF PRIZEWINNERS The first annual rose show of the ! Ho wick Horticultural Society was held yesterday afternoon, and,, was a great success. Other flowers besides roses were shown, and made an excellent display. Mr. A. AY. Hall. M.P., who opened j the show, said that the society was recently formed to assist and co-operate ■ with the Beautifying Society, which ! had done good work in the district. i Special exhibits were made by j Messrs. AY. E. Lippiatt, .J. Rock and R. ' Burns, and Mesdames Hardwicke and AYade. The following prizes were awarded: Three roses: Miss Motion, 1; Mrs. J. Motion, 2. Six roses: Mrs. Bagnali, 1; Miss Motion, 2. Three roses, novice: Airs. Mason, 3; Mrs. F. Roberts, 2. Six roses, novice: Mrs. Bagnali. 1; Miss Motion, 2. Champion rose: Mr. Rock, cut flowers, six varieties: Mrs. Bagnali, 1; Miss Motion, 2. Twelve varieties: Mrs. Morley Bell. l; Miss Carruth, 2. Antirrhinums: Miss Ratlibone, 1 : Mrs. Mason, 2. Geraniums: Airs. R. MeXeish, 1; Miss Nixon. 2. Stocks: Airs. Mclnness, 3: Mrs. Sparksman, 2 Pansies: Mrs Abbott. 3; Airs. Morley Bell. 2. Decorated table: Airs. Packey, 3: Airs. Thorpe 2 Rose bowl: Airs. A. Cherry, 3; Mrs. Alorley Bell. 2 Bowl of mixed flowers - Airs Gunson. 1; Mrs. Bagnali. 2. Posies: Airs. Morley Bell, 3. Buttonholes, children over 10: Aliss A. Marten, 1. Under 30: Master AY. Tyree. Decorated baskets, children over 30: Roy Tov«y, 3; Mary Sutherland, 2 Under 10: Margatet Shaw, 1: Dorothy Barnard. 2. Best collection vegetables: Airs. Morley Bell, Airs.
