In welcoming the visiting clubs, the president, Mr. R. T. Hill, made mention of tho fact that as a result of the members’ efforts during the winter, the season opened with the club in full possession of its grounds, pavilion and all appliances purchased during the previous season. The games resulted as follow: Barber, Wycherley. Prickett, Pilkington ({South Suburban Bowling Centre; 31, v. Catley. Tho president of the South Auckland Bowling Centre, on behalf'of the visiting clubs, thanked the Taupiri members for the hospitality and enjoyable afternoon’s entertainment afforded them. He congratulated the Taupiri Club on the appearance of its green and grounds. Ho had come, he said, feeling some sympathy was needed to a young club, but discovered that this was not necessary', as the club was free from all liability’, and even showed a credit balance, a very satisfactory condition for a club just commencing its second year of play'. He gave a cordial invitation to all present to witness the games at Hamilton with the visiting Canadian bowlers.
