NEW ZEALAND TOBACCO
LONDON COMPANY TO TEST MARKET LONDON, Saturday. A London firm of tobacco merchants has imported -40 bales of New Zealand pipe tobacco to test the market The warning is issued that if this small shipment is successful it does not follow that the market can absorb larger quantities. This warning is founded on experience with Rhodesian tobaccos, thousands of tons of which are now in Britain and are nor marketable. It is not a question of quality or whiff her it is equal to or better than American tobacco. It is the different taste to which the .public must be educated. Many Englishmen who went to Africa to grow tobacco in Rhodesia and Xyassa are now said to be glad to drive tramcars.
