LIQUOR AT CHATEAU

NATIONAL PARK BOARD SAYS “NO” LAW TO BE ADHERED TO Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Mr. J. B. Thompson, chairman of the National Park Board, when interviewed, said that so far as the board is concerned it is going strictly to observe the present law and agreement as to the embargo on liquor in the King Country entered into by the Government with the natives. He says there must be some mistake regarding a statement that a licence has been granted to Chateau Tongariro by Maori owners as there are no Maori owners of Tongariro National Park, and in any case, if there were, they would not he in a position to grant any person a licence to sell spirituous liquors.
