CARNIVAL SPIRIT NUMEROUS DANCERS ! A jolly evening was spent at the Click | Glack Cabaret on Saturday, the lighting : and decorations being especially delightful. Many charming frocks were j noticed among the dancers, who thoroughly appreciated the bright music played by Mr. R. Jones and his orchestra. Gaily-coloured streamers and balloons were lowered while the dances were in progress. Among those present were: Mrs. Esam. who was frocked in black lace over satin. Miss Kirkwood wore a frock of black ring velvet with shoulder spray of pink flowers. Miss Beryl Esapi wore hedge green chiffon with a long uneven hemline. Miss Wright son had chosen a black beaded georgette frock. Miss Gabridle Fraser was wearing a smart frock of black ring velvet. BRACK CASCADED TULLE Miss Lugston was smartly frocked in ! black cascaded tulle over black satin. Miss Blackwell was in ivory embossed georgette. A charming frock of rose velvet and georgette was worn by Miss 1. Hood. Miss Delamore chose a frock of figured ring velvet. Miss Walker was in blue shot taffeta and figured lame. Miss L. Hardie’s charming frock was of marigold ring velvet. Miss Gemrnell wore crepe de chine in almond green. Oriental figured georgette was favoured by Miss Theo JTalpin. Miss Tuohey was in deep peach crepe de chine and georgette. Miss Bird had on a frock of mauve taffeta, ankle length. Miss Bake we 11 was wearing a dainty frock of buttercup georgette, with an overdress of silver lace and shoulder Wicket chose beige beaded char- ! mouse. JN GOLD SATIN | Miss Casley was in gold satin and j | block tulle. Miss Reynolds’s frock was of cyclamen 1 chiffon velvet and georgette. Miss MacNaughton wore a pretty frock j 1 with mauve ring velvet corsage aiyl j flowered shot taffeta skirt. Miss T. Jsmitli was in eau de nil taffeta and tulle. „ , | Black taffeta and lace were favoured , by Miss Blake. Miss Pickett wore cyclamen taffeta with an overdress of silk lace. Miss R. M Miss' E? h Cassidy wore shrimp-pink j • satin with touches ot blue. ’ TAKANINI BAZAAR FUNDS FOR SCHOOL A. very satisfactory meeting to©k place in the Takanini School on Haturdav afternoon, when the secretary of the Ladies' Guild, Mrs. Clayton, handed to the Takanini School Committee the sum of f 35 its Del, being the proceeds |of the bazaar held by the ladies ; recently. The guild decided to leave the disposal of the money in the hands of the ! School Committee. The chairman ot 1 the School Committee, Mr. Jones, congratulated ' the ladies on their fine i achievement, which was the result of ( many hours’ hard work, and assured I them that the money would be utilised j in the best interests of the school. i PROPOSED GARDEN FETE ! 1 Preparations are well in hand for j the garden fete to be held in the j grounds of St. Joseph’s Boys’ Orphan- ' • age. Takapuna, on Saturday afternoon next- All the novelties and attractions j usual at such fairs will be in evidence, • and patrons are promised an interesting afternoon. : The proceeds am. to be devoted to ! the provision of Christmas comforts j for the inmates.
