RACING AT TE RAPA Karapoto Wins Ruakura Stakes TIIE Waikato Racing Club's spring meeting was concluded today in overcast weather. There was a good attendance and the track was again holding. The Lamb won the hurdle event after a line linish with the favourite. Red (’omet. Hackers of the hot favourite. To lloia. got a shook in the Krankton Handicap, when the outsider, Antique, flashed up at the finish to make a dead heat of it and return his few supporters a great price. Karapoto won the two-year-old heat comfortably from the little-fancied Full .Measure. There was a stirring finish in the Hamilton Handicap. True Blood, the Cup winner on Saturday, getting up to,, snatch a nose victory from the favourite, Prince Val.

With a furlong covered Karapoto ran to the lead and made play from Biddy's Boy, Lapstone, Society Maid, Wild Time. Oil King and Tarcha, ancl this was the order as the field turned for home. The leader was never troubled and won easily from Full Measure, who came fast at the finish to cut Biddy's Boy out of second place by a neck. Bells of Shandon was next, followed by Tremetus.
