BOYS’ COMMUNITY CLUB
VISIT BY DIRECTORS CLASSES AND GYMNASTICS A visit to the Communitj Sunshine Association's Boys’ Club in Nelson Street was paid by the directors last evening, and a comprehensive tour made of the various classrooms. Woodwork classes were in full swing last evening, and the boys were doing ndei way for classes in boot-repair-ing and in hair-cutting. A room has f- n provided for children to do their homework from 6.30 p.m. onward. Physical training receives its fair iro of attention at the club. Boxing and wrestling looms, the former containing a ring presented by the Xortlxh n Boxing Association, and provided with gloves and a punching ball presented by Toni Hceney on his last visit to Auckland, have done much to benefit the boys. One of the members won the New Zealand wrestling championship. under Sst. at the Town Hall last Monday. The up-to-date equipment in the gymnasium presented by Mr. John Court, is always in use. Showerbaths will be provided soon. Mr. J. A. Lamond has been appointed as house-manager.
