FLATS AT REMUERA

OWNER’S REPRESENTATIONS As the Town Planning Board had supported the City Council in its decision that no flats should be built on the Victoria Avenue section, over which there has been some controversy, the owner of the land asked the council last evening for permission to divide the section into two for sale. The City Solicitor. Mr. J. Stanton, reported that in presenting* its case to the Town Planning Board, the council had said that only one dwelling could be erected on the area, and at the most not more than two should be allowed, whereas the owner proposed to build a block of 19 flats. The acting-city Engineer. Air. .1. Tyler, said that a previous application for subdivision had been declined, but pointed out that under another by-law the subdivision could have been approved. The question was referred for report by the Town Planning Committee.
