Dangerous Scaffolding Charged with failing to notify the inspector after incurring the risk of a fall from scaffolding, Alan Baillie, Ltd., was fined £5 at the Police Court this morning. Old Labourer's Death An elderly man, Tom Mason, a Public Works Department employee on the East Coast railway construction, was found dead in his hut at No. 2 Camp, Knpuawlia ra, yesterday. An inquest will he held. —P.A. Bad Weather for Air-Pageant. From the forecast issued today it. does not seem there will be aero weather for the air-pageant at Wellington tomorrow. The forecast is for strong westerly winds to gales backing soon to .southerlies in the southern districts, and southerlies becoming general during the, next 24 hours. P.A. Shearers’ Award Case An application was before the Arbitration Court at Palmerston North today when shearing contractors of Feilcling sought to have the Levin Company, Limited, added as a party to the Wellington Shearers’ and Shed Hands’ Award. The firm objected on the grounds that they were working under the Wool. Hides. Grain and Produce Store Employees’ Award. His Honour, Mr. Justice Frazer, said this seemed to be a case of special conditions, and tho decision was reserved. — (P.A.)
