All Guides and Guiders who are proposing to attend the Dominion Camp should procure a copy of “The Dominion Girl Guide” for November, as the complete camp-kit list is contained in this number, together with other instructions. The closing date for names and subscription (£5) is November 15, after which no applications can be received by Dominion Headquarters. The Lady Alice Fergusson Cup and the Jellicoe Shield have been won by the Nelson Province. The Dominion fund for assisting the building of the new Guide Headquarters in England now stands at £sl 11s 6d (cash received £35 Is, promises £l6 10s 6d). * * * Singing Stream reports for the First Otahuhu Company: “Several Guides in our company have gained their Second-class badges this month and are now very enthusiastic about working for Proficiency badges. “The Patrol Cup for the month was won by the Thistle patrol with full marks. “At present we are all very busy preparing for an evening which is to be held next month. “Last Sunday we attended an armistice service in the Church of England, together with the Second Company and the Boy Scouts.” Still Woodland forwards the following news of the Second Otahuhu Company:— “On Saturday, October 19, we tramped over to Mangere Mountain, where several Guides passed their firelighting tests. We arrived there about noon, boiled the billy, and had lunch We then walked up the highest part of mountain, where we obtained an excellent view of the surrounding country. After this we played games, then had tea and set off for home, tired

but happy and well pleased with our day’s outing. “During- the month some Guides were presented with their Toymaker’s and Sick Nurse badges. The greater part of our Guide meetings is now taken up with Ambulance work, as a number of Guides wish to obtain their Ambulance badge. Several Guides intend practising for their Swimmer’s badge. “On Sunday, November 10, we attended, in conjunction with other public bodies, a special armistice service in the Anglican Church.”
