Successful Function at Dargavillc FINE EXHIBITS The annual rose and sweet pea sliuw held under the auspices oi the 110 l Trinity Church Ladies' Guild. tit Bar gaville, on tfaturdav. was a gren success from all points of view. Tlx wet and boisterous nature of th weather had not been favourable t the cultivation of delicate blooms, ye there was a surprisinglv large numbe of fine flowers shown. Exhibits in the decorative sectio wore particular! v good, and Mrs. E. Harding’s specimens in the ro> section were outstanding, this o\ liihitor winning all tho special prize Mesdumes Alderson, Yause. IVliar. Capp and Misses Stephenson and Clift

were in charge of the tearooms, which were freely patronised during the afternoon. Mrs. 11. B. Arifiitage, the secretary, and her committee had all arrangements for the show in excellent order, and the success reflected great credit on their work. The profits will go toward the new car fund. The judges were:—Flowers and produce, Mr. G. Simmons; decorations, Mrs. E. G. Cliffe; needlework and children’s decorations, Mrs. W. O’Malley. Those acting as stewards were: For roses and sweet peas, Mrs. B. S. Angus; cut blooms, Mrs. W. Peterson; children’s exhibits, Mrs. W. Hilliam; j produce, Mrs. J. Dempsey; needlework, j Misses Harding and Walpole; decoraI tive, Mrs. C. S. Rush: sweets stall, Mrs. A. E. Reynolds and Bible Class
