CONCERT BY NEW PIPE BAND

CONCERT CHAMBER TOMORROW The recently formed Auckland and District Highland Pipe Band will hold their first concert in the Concert Chamber on Wednesday evening, and a first-class programme has been arranged for this occasion of Scottish U The new band is composed of experienced bandsmen, all of whom have served with various Scottish regiments during the war. The Pipe Major is undoubtedly on< of the best pipers in Xew Zealand, 1 and he served with the Black Watch, j When competing at Aldershot against . the finest pipers in the Old Country he was placed second. The drum major served throughout j the war with the Black Watch, and j was in charge of the Sixth Battalion ; Band at the cessation of hostilities. This concert is being held for the I purpose of raising funds for the pur- i chase of uniforms. The band confi- j Auckland public.
