TRAMPING CLUB

VISIT TO GREAT BARRIER The Auckland Tramping Club is planning a trip for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The programme for December is as follows:—December 1. Deep Creek: December S, Orewa; December* 15, Mosig Bridge; December 21, "Ngaro Te Kotare”; December 22, Smeeton’s Creek. For Christmas and New Year, arrangements are being made to take a party to Whangapara, Great Barrier. It is proposed to leave Auckland late on Christmas Eve, arriving at the island on Ohistmas Day, and campingin the mill houses, several of which are available. General exploration parties will be organised, places of interest and beauty being visited. Camp will be struck on January 2, the party returning to Auckland late in the evening. Information regarding the trip can be obtained from the leader, Mr. G. W. Gilchrist, or from the secretary, Mr. E. Waters.
