MARKET MORE NORMAL

WALL STREET TRADING MUCH REDUCED PRICES ABOUT THE SAME United P.A. — 8 1/ I'ciegraph—Copyright Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK, Friday. The Stock Market became more like its normal self, there being no wild gyrations in prices or trading. The market opened higher and then receded slightly, so that the majority of shares ended a quiet day at about yesterday’s closing averages, with a few notable exceptions, like General Electric, which was down 10 points at the close of trading.

The volume was much decreased compared with the other short sessions.

Brokers expressed satisfaction at the more stable behaviour, some predicting a series of quiet markets, with narrow price movements. The Board of Governors voted to close the Stock Exchange at 1 o’clock every day next week, and suspend trading on November 16 to the brokers.
