CHURCH FUNDS BENEFIT LARGE ATTENDANCES There was a large attendance at the annual sale of work of tlie Bombay Methodist Ladies’ Guild on _ Wednesday in connection with the jubilee of the activities of the church. • The Rev. H. L. Fiebig opened the sale. Those in charge of stalls were as follow: Sweets, Mrs. P. Bond, the Misses Winnie Shaw and Hilda Hancockfancy, Mesdames L. Fletcher and C. Darby; plain. Mesdames Beishaw, JR. Fletcher and Miss Sproule; Christmas tree, Messrs. L. Fletcher and PDarby; cookery, Mesdames S. C. Sliaw, and R. Wootten; jumble, Messrs. F. J. Wootten and L. Best; produce, Mr. and Mrs. B. Shaw; tearooms. Mrs. H. Wootten, Misses Shaw (2), Evans and Wyatt. PRESBYTERIAN GUILD Arranged by the Waiau Pa Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild, a bazaar was held in the Waiau Pa Hall on Wednesday, £SO being realised. The function was opened by Mr. T. G. Shilton, home missioner. The stallholders were: Plain and fancy, Mesdames R. Clark, sen., Smith, McClune, R. Schofield; produce, Misses Pilkington and McClune; cakes, Misses Neil and Saddleton; tea, Mesdames Bell, Luder, N. Clark, Voltz, T. Hastie; bran-dip, Mrs. Hastie and Mr. G. McClune; competitions, Messrs. Smith and McClune. Two nail-driving competitions were won by Miss Millen, 1; Mrs. Bell. 2; and by N. Clark, 1; C. McLaren, 2.
