FIRE IN GARAGE
MOTOR-LORRY DAMAGED From Our Own Correspondent WHANGAREI, Today. A big motor-lorry in an old wooden and iron garage at the foot of Rathbone Street caught alight today. A workman was buring some rubber off an old horn when the lorry caught fire and was soon a mass of flames. The brigade was called, but before it arrived a fire-extinguisher and water were used, and the flames extinguished. Considerable damage was done to the vehicle. An old bus standing close by was also scorched.
