MAY SPRING A SURPRISE
A HORSE engaged in the New Zealand Cup, of whom very little is heard publicly, but which may create a surprise if he succeeds in getting into the final, is Roi. L’Or. When produced at the National fixture, he won the August Handicap in good style to pay a great price, and recently proved himself in form by winning a tenfurlong heat at Oamaru. A lot of interest will be taken in his essay on Tuesday and if he survives the first ordeal, the Rey de Oro gelding should not be overlooked in the final heat.
