NEW PASSENGER SERVICE
0. AND 0. LINE’S DEPARTURE N.Z. TO AMERICA Advice of the early inauguration of a new transpacific passenger service by the Oceanic and Oriental Navigation Company has been received by Elenderson and Macfarlane, Limited, the local agents. The O', and O. Line, as it is called, now maintains a monthly cargo service between the Pacific Coast and New Zealand, its vessels being named with the prefix “Golden.” Besides carrying general cargo, these vessels have been recently converted to carry frozen produce as well. The company was also, about six months ago, granted a mail contract by the American Government. It has not been definitely decided when the passenger service will be inaugurated, but as each vessel returns to Sari Francisco passenger accommodation will be installed. Firstclass passengers only will be carried. The single fare from New Zealand to San Francisco will be from £4O and to Honolulu £2B 10s.
