CHURCH CHOIR CONCERT

SUCCESS AT PONSONBY A concert of vocal numbers, organ solos and anthems given in the All Saints’ Church, Ponsonby, last evening by the choir and assisting artists before a large audience resulted in a good sum being raised toward the choir funds. Thanks were expressed by the vicar, the Rev. W. W. Averill, to all who helped with the arrangements. The following solos were given: Madame Irene Ainsley, “O Diyine Redeemer” and “Abide with Me”; Miss Veda Hutchinson. “Praise Ye the Lord”; Mr. Len Barnes, “Judge Me, O God”; Mr. R. Errington, selections from “The Messiah”; Master Arthur MeMath, “The Holy Child” (Easthope Martin). Items by the choir. Dr. Phillips, organist, Miss Winifred Hill, Miss Gwenda Weir and Mr. W. Manning were also given.
