WANGANUI SCHOOL HOSTEL

NEW BUILDING PLANNED From Our Own Correspondent WANGANUI, Today. Advice that Cabinet had approved of an additional grant to enable the Boys’ Technical School hostel to be erected on the new site in Purnell Street was received in Wanganui yesterday from the Minister of Education, the Hon. H. Atmore. The building of the hostel was to have been begun last March, but at the last minute the Minister considered that the scheme was too unpretentious and directed that fresh plans for a twostoreyed brick building be prepared. The cost of the building under the new plans is 50 per cent, greater than that of the original.
