A. E. BAIRD RETURNS

FIRST SWIMMING EVENT OF SEASON A. E. Baird, prominent in distance swimming in New Zealand the season before last, will make his return to club racing in Auckland at Parnell club’s gymkhana at the Parnell baths on Saturday afternoon. Racing against Baird will be Gordon Bridson, national champion in two distance events. The gymkhana will be the first swimming event of the season, and interest will be largely centred in Miss P. Robertson, Auckland’s new hope in women’s events in the coming New Zealand championships. Miss Robertson has been training during the winter and has developed a new action, which is expected to reduce her times.
