REMAND ON THEFT COUNT When Claude Paget and Edward R. Black were charged on remand in the Onehunga Police Court this morning with stealing a number ot water meters and a quantity ot ironwork valued at C 7 belonging to the Manukou County Council, they first elected to be tried by jury and subsequently consented to Vie dealt with summarily. They explained, however, that they had so far failed to get a solicitor to defend them, and asked for a further remahd. This was granted, ana bail was allowed, £IOO and one surety each of £IOO. The case was remanded until November IS.
