WILD WEST TOUR
YOUTH’S BREAKING AND ENTERING ESCAPADES SENT TO BORSTAL “Wliat made you sel out ou this Wild West escapade? Did you see that sort of thing in the pictures?” This question was asked by Mr. Justice Smith, in the Supreme Court today, of George Thomas McDonald Bryant, aged 19, who appeared for sentence for breaking and entering in the Te Puke and Tauranga districts. Bryant was one of two armed youths arrested in ail abandoned house at Winden. The prisoner confessed he did not know what prompted him to undertake the tour of breaking, entering and theft. “It looks as though you are a youth of spirit, who wants discipline,” commented his Honour. “Your spirit wants to be directed into the proper channels,” the judge added in committing Bryant to the Borstal for three years.
