CHANNEL TUNNEL PLAN
NO DECISION YET REACHED BY COMMITTEE British Official Wireless RUGBY, Thursday. Statements were published yesterday that the committee which was appointed last March by the then Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, to consider the economic aspects of the Channel Tunnel scheme, was about to submit its report to the Government. It was said that its conclusions were unfavourable to the tunnel as a commercial proposition. It is now officially stated that the committee has reached an advanced stage of its inquiry, but has not in fact come to any decision on the terms of its report.
