USE OF ANTISEPTICS
VALUE OF BORACIC Every mother should know the use of antiseptics, and will save herself and her children much suffering if she will keep some of them handy for use when required. A clean wound is less liable to serious developments than a dirty one, and for safe cleansing-.there is nothing so effective as peroxide of hydrogen. It is perfectly safe and non-poisonous. It should be diluted with water, and if the instructions are not on the bottle ask the chemist, as it is'sold in various strengths. In the case of gatherings or discharging wounds it is most effective. It is splendid in cases of discharging ears, as it keeps the ear clean and sweet. It can also be used as a mouth wash and as a gargle for ulcerated and sore throats. Boracic powder is another antiseptic which no house should be without. This should be dusted dry upon a wound, that is healing. If the wound is fresh and has dirt in it, the boracic should bo dissolved in previously boiled water.
