ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL MEETING

From Our Own Correspondent TAUMARUNUI, Friday

At the annual meeting of the Taumarunui Cricket Association, the following delegates were present: Messrs. F. M. Carroll (Manunui), E. O’Reilly (Manunui), E. Edwards, W. Hughes, C. Halliday, G. Rutherford, and A. E. Kerr (Taumarunui). Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. C. A. Boles; president, Mr. F. M. Carroll; vice-president, Mr. W. Hughes; match committee, Messrs. G. Rutherford and W. Hughes; ground committee, Messrs. G. Rutherford, C. Halliday and E. O’Reillcy; entertainment committee, Messrs. G. Rutherford and A. E. Kerr; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. P. Rutherford; sole selector, appointment deferred. The association resolved that all representative players must be financial members of their respective clubs before they would be considered available for selection. With a likelihood of six teams being available to form a strong competition, it was decided latft night to form a cricket association. The following officers were 'elected: Patron, Mr. C. E. Macmillan, M.P.; president, Mr. J. A. Jordan; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs. H. E. Olding, H. Brash,. L. Norris, G. S. Butler, C. Walsh, D. A. Ivory, A. A. Mercer, Dr. J. B. Mac Diarmid; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Curtis.
