THIEVES ON RANGITIKI
LOSSES BY PASSENGERS During 1 the voyage of the Rangitiki from England several cases of petty thieving took place on board. Apparently all classes suffered, but those in the first saloon, were the principal losers. x One passenger said yesterday that a valuable pair of Zeiss binoculars had been taken from his cabin. xlnother reported the loss of a watch and still another said that £2 in cash hgd been taken from some clothing in his cabin one night when he was at dinner. Small sums of money and personal belongings bad been taken from passengers in other parts of the ship.
