INTERMEDIATE RURAL CREDITS EXTENSION OF LIMIT Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday. An amendment to the Rural Intermediate Credit Act increasing the amount of loan that may be granted to individual farmers or to members of associations was introduced into the House by Governor-General’s Message this afternoon. The acting-Leader of the House, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, said the provision was to raise the limit from £I,OOO 10 £2,000 and so make the Act more useful to farmers. There were other amendments to the Act, but they were purely machinery clauses. The Bill was read a first time.
