TRAM HITS LORRY When a motor-lorry loaded with furniture was turning into Karangahape Road from Ponsonby Road at three o'clock this afternoon, it struck a tramcar proceeding round the corner in the opposite direction. The lorry, owned and driven by Mr. R. J. Caltaux, was caught between the front of the tram and a centre - pole. Nobody was hurt, but several passengers in ■ with broken glass. The inside back wheel of the lorry was crushed and the front of the tram near the headlight was badly damaged. The lorry was towed to the side of the road and the road cleared after a few m inutes.
