LEAGUE OF MOTHERS ANNUAL MEETING DOMINION PRESIDENT ELECTED A large gathering of members filled the assembly hall of the Y.W.C.A. yesterday, when the annual meeting of branch members of the League of Mothers was held. Mrs. Mitchell, provincial president, presided. A special welcome was extended byMrs. Mitchell to Lady Gunson, exprovincial president, Mrs. Bradstreet, president, and Miss Jean Begg, secretary of the Y.W.C.A. The league expressed gratitude for the help and courtesy shown by the association’s staff in arranging for meetings held in the Y.W.C.A. rooms. The president remarked that the fact that many country branches were represented at the meeting was an indication of the league’s good work. The minutes of the Dominion conference having been read and resolutions framed for the guidance of provincial committees and branches, the reports presented by the various secretaries were taken. Lady Gunson then briefly addressed the meeting. Afternoon tea was served by the committee, the convener being Mrs. St. Clair Inglis. Later reports of delegates to the Mothers’ Union National Council and New Zealand Council of Religious Education were received. Regret was expressed at the imminent departure of the Dominion president, Lady Alice Fergusson. Her Excellency’s personal interest in individual members was appreciated by all. A message of good wishes and thanks tor the great help she had given to the league was forwarded to her Excellency. Mrs. J. F. Elliott, of Wellington, was elected Dominion president, her term of office to commence following the departure of Lady Alice Fergusson.
