PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD

Before proceeding with the ordinary business, the members of the Papa - kura Town Board last evening passed a vote of condolence with the clerk, Mr. A. L. Cooper, in his recent bereave- i ment. Air. The society had done a lot of work there, and did not want to see it go back. The society would like to see the board take effective steps to prevent the erection of hoardings round the town. A hose and sprinkler was badly needed for the soldiers’ memorial park. It was agreed j to purchase the hose, and the chairman said he agreed that the cemetery was ; not getting the attention it should, j but the board must have by-laws first, I and these were under consideration. Air. Willis said he and his brother, j Air. Robert Willis, had purchased Airs, j Guisler's section of Kirk's Bush, and intended to hand it over to the Govern- j if the board would grade the fence 1 line. The chairman thanked Air. Willis for the fine gift, and promised ! to go fully into the question raised. j
