YOUNG MAN ACQUITTED
An acquittal was the result of the trial before Mr. Justice Smith in the Supreme Court yesterday of Darcy Lewis Goodman, aged 2i>, on charges of serious offences against a 13-year-old Maori girl. The charges accused Goodman ©£ attempted rape, attempted unlawful knowledge, indecent assault and assault. The offences were alleged to have occurred at Tairua. Mr. Hubble prosecuted and Mr. Noble appeared for accused. After the verdict of not guilty the prisoner was discharged.
