RADIO EXHIBITION

TO BE OPENED TONIGHT ACTIVITY IN TOWN HALL The Town Hall was a hive of industry this morning, when radio dealers of Auckland were busily engaged in decorating their stands in preparalion for the opening of the Radio Exhibition at 7.3 u this evening. Already . the Amateur Radio Transmitters’ League's exhibit is almost completed, and the model studio on the platform is rapidly taking shape. Sets of all types and r-izes, appar a . tus and components of every use and make, and colourful posters have made their appearance, aud each of the 22 stands gives promise of an excellent display ihis evening. At 7.30 p.m. the Postmaster-General ■ will open the exhibition officially, speaking by land-line from bis office at Wellington. The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. George Baildon. and the chairman of the Auckland ElectricPower Board. Mr. W\ J. Holds worth* * will speak from the Town Hall platform. At eight, o'clock a series of short concerts will be given in the studio on the platform, and these wifi be broadcast by station IYA. During ! the interval itemfe will be given from the studio in France Street, and distributed through the Town Hall by a | system of loud speakers. The Radio Exhibition will be continued tomorrow and on Friday and Saturday from 10.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m.
